This "experiment" was just too much fun! A paper mache background was first allowed to dry and shrivel to its final position. This created an uneven surface for painting and montage effects. Contemporary instruments (keyboard and guitar) were created digitally using PhotoShop, and distorted to their final positions. These instruments are then affixed to the paper mache, and painted to enhance the visual. Surrounding the jazz ensemble, are carefully selected fabrics, and hand tossed fabric paints to provide additional depth to the work. Paper mache is sealed, and mounted on a black felt over cardboard. The entire piece sits in a shadow box.Artist: Jane Wadsworth
